I should have posted this 2 days ago. In my beautiful Provence, Xmas is an exciting time. One thing that need to be done on December 4th, the day of Sainte Barbe, is to put wheat and lentils seeds in small dishes. They will be used as table decorations on xmas eve. They used to symbolize a good harvest and perfect weather for the new year, nowadays it is essentially good fortune, specially if you put under the cotton a golden coin!
